Annaliese Griffin is the newsletter editor for The Marshall Project. Griffin edits and oversees the production of newsletters like Opening Statement, Closing Argument, our local newsletter products and more. She also reviews analytics, responds to reader needs and conceptualizes new products. Griffin is also the managing editor of News Inside, The Marshall Project’s print news magazine circulated inside prisons and jails. In this role, she helps to establish an editorial calendar, set deadlines, document how News Inside is produced, track production stages, and establish communications protocols to better connect News Inside with the newsroom. Prior to her work at The Marshall Project, Griffin edited Quartz’s Daily Obsession newsletter and co-founded the email newsletter, Brooklyn Based. She has also contributed freelance articles to a range of publications, including guest essays for The New York Times. She is based in Vermont.
