Dear editor,
My name is Lauren and my English class read the article Dying in Attica. It is really upsetting to me that Lenny is going through colon cancer and the prison is treating him like any other inmate. I understand that he did wrong by robbing those banks and he deserves to be in prison but since he is having medical issues, he should at least be in a medical facility. Yes, he did wrong, but he is still a human being and should be treated as such.
Lenny should know that he is a person and means something to someone somewhere. All life matters and everyone makes mistakes. I feel for Lenny and hope that he gets better and his cancer goes away. If his cancer does not go away then I hope he lives the rest of his life happy and goes in peace. At least he has John to talk to.
